World Cup 2010: USA 1 England 1 FINAL SCORE
After an early goal by Captain Steven Gerrard, the US team came back in the 40th minute to tie things up. The goal by US attacker, Clint Dempsey was seen by many as a “lucky” goal after Robert Green, the English goalie, played the ball too passively and allows the soccer ball to ricochet off his glove and into the net.
In addition, as the game continued, both teams played more aggressive. This aggressiveness drew both teams a number of yellow cards with the US team leading the way.
The player for the game for the England team was Steven Gerrard with the lone goal for that came in the 4th minute.
The player for the game for the US team was Clint Dempsey for his goal, Landon Donovan for his aggressiveness and Tim Howard for his quickness and goal saves that preserved the tie. Overall, it was a tale of two goal keepers. Howard outplayed Green thus ending the game in a tie.
