USC Players To Transfer In Droves? USC Dynasty = Dead?
As of today, NCAA will allow USC players who are in their junior and senior year of eligibility to transfer without sitting out for 1 year. However, they CAN NOT transfer within the Pac-10 conference. This is great news for many players who are buried in the USC depth chart.
Some of the players that we expect to transfer are those who are 3rd/4th string players and out of staters. These includes QB James Boyd, RB Marc Tyler, RB Curtis McNeal, WRs De’von Flournoy, Brandon Carswell, Travon Patterson, DE Nick Perry and S Marshall Jones. Nick Perry is perhaps the one big named player who may shake things up.
Incoming freshmen such as Dillon Baxter and Kyle Prater, who enrolled early to compete in the spring game found the short end of the stick. They are not allowed to transfer without sitting out 1 year. However, they are allowed a redshirt year (like other incoming freshmen) and may take the opportunity to use it if things does not look rosy at USC.
Overall, we expect that the USC football program will be in decline for many years. Expect the USC Dynasty to end its great epic run. They may never be the same again! Teams will use the USC sanctions as a motivating tool to persuade young recruits to attend their school. The End!
