Texas Joins Pac-10 Thus Dismantling Big-12 Conference
According to a tweet by Chip Brown, a writer for Orangebloods.com a University of Texas fan site, Texas will join the Pac-10 and will make a formal announcement after its regent meeting on Tuesday of next week.
Colorado was the 1st Big-12 team to bolt thus creating a trickling effect that changed the entire college football landscape for years to come. Then reports today showed that Nebraska will leave the conference, but will not join the Pac-10 but will perhaps form a new Big-12 conference with the current Big-10 conference.
Texas announcement is the final nail in the coffin, signaling an end to its current conference. We expect other teams to follow such as Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State, thus creating a super conference, possibly called the “Pac-16”.
If all of this realignment occurs as expected, we are predicting that the Pac-16 will become the new powerhouse conference thus supplanting the SEC.
