Texas Joins Pac-10 Thus Dismantling Big-12 Conference

According to a tweet by Chip Brown, a writer for Orangebloods.com a University of Texas fan site, Texas will join the Pac-10 and will make a formal announcement after its regent meeting on Tuesday of next week.

Colorado was the 1st Big-12 team to bolt thus creating a trickling effect that changed the entire college football landscape for years to come. Then reports today showed that Nebraska will leave the conference, but will not join the Pac-10 but will perhaps form a new Big-12 conference with the current Big-10 conference.

Texas announcement is the final nail in the coffin, signaling an end to its current conference. We expect other teams to follow such as Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State, thus creating a super conference, possibly called the “Pac-16”.

If all of this realignment occurs as expected, we are predicting that the Pac-16 will become the new powerhouse conference thus supplanting the SEC.

The Big 12 South becomes the PAC-16 East, TEXAS keeps its rivalry's and creats a new one TEXAS vs. USC, annually, and doubles its TV exposure and revenue. What's not to like!

Chip has been saying A&M may not come with TX, OU, oSu & Tech – which could open up a spot for Kansas or Utah.

I'm no fan of the SEC, but adding Texas and it's tag-alongs doesn't make the Pac-## a bigger football powerhouse. Though the gap would have closed.

I don't think Kansas will join unless Kansas State goes too. If not Texas A&M, look for Baylor. I think Utah will join only if BYU joins too.

SEC has NO Tim Tebow! Enough said!

A&M are required to go together… it is a law created by the Texas legislature many years ago.

  • Longhorns78

Texas and Texas A&M are required to go together… somehow part of that was left off.

  • Duder

There is no “Law” Longhorns78…there is the PUF and it can be leveraged as pressure to keep UT and Aggot together
Chip Brown is the guy who has broken every story so far (UT's minister of propaganda) and has been spot on with everything
