The 5th Annual Taste of San Joaquin 2012 of Stockton, CA will begin on August 18, starting at 11:30am and ending at 6:30pm. The event will be held at 221 N. Center Street at Stockton’s Weber Point Waterfront.
The day’s festivities will include the Way Out West BBQ Competition, chili cook-offs, beer and soda stations, wine and food tastings, Kid’s Activity Area and many other things. General admissions will be $3 and kids under 12 years-old will get in for FREE.
Organizers use the event as a fundraising opportunity. Last year in 2011, Taste of San Joaquin raised $4,500; not bad considering it is a one-day event.
If you are not doing anything on Saturday, come out to the Taste of San Joaquin in Stockton to support local charities, local businesses and the local economy. However, given the state of the city of Stockton (and its image) , just make sure that you are not wearing too much jewelry because you may get robbed.
