Stanislaus County to Present Equal Rights Award on October 17, 2012

Stanislaus County, CA – The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors and the Stanislaus County Equal Rights Commission are pleased to present the Dale Butler Equal Rights Award in recognition of a Stanislaus County employee for their outstanding commitment or achievement in furthering the County’s Equal Rights Program.

The recipient for 2012 is Christine Applegate, the Director of the Stanislaus County Community Services Agency.

Ms. Applegate will be recognized for her outstanding achievements in promoting the County’s Equal Rights Program at a special ceremony to take place in the Board Chambers located in the basement of 1010 Tenth Street on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend this free ceremony.

The Stanislaus County Equal Rights Commission is a seven-member community-based body that is appointed by the Board of Supervisors. It serves as a resource to the Board of Supervisors and County staff for equal rights improvements in county service. The commission holds public meetings the third Wednesday of every other month at 3:30 p.m. The Commission members are Leslie Beggs, Dionicio Cruz, Pamela Cullors, Carmen Morad, Sonia Schultz and Jeremiah Williams

    I have worked at CSA since before Applegate started for the County. Though diversity is deemed important at CSA, Chris has simply kept the programs that were started by previous directors in place. She is being given the award simply because she is retiring from the county.
