Stanislaus County, CA – The Stanislaus Chief Executive Office has released the County’s Recommended Proposed Budget for the 2013-2014 Budget Year. The Recommended Proposed Budget will serve as an interim spending plan for Stanislaus County operations until a Final Budget for 2013-2014 is adopted in September.
The Recommended Proposed Budget totals $1,010,426,044 and reflects an increase of approximately 2.7% for all funds as compared to the 2012-2013 Adopted Final Budget of $984,161,674. The increase is largely attributable to additional appropriations of $40 million in the Community Services Agency due to growth of state and federal social services program funding. The General Fund totals $238,845,003 which has decreased approximately $20 million from the 2012-2013 Adopted Final Budget of $258,693,372.
“As an organization, we will continue to maintain a strong focus on a conservative and realistic fiscal strategy providing the continuation of core services that will be reflected in the balanced budget being proposed for this next budget year,” stated County Chief Executive Officer Monica Nino.
A Public Hearing before the Board of Supervisors to consider the adoption of the 2013-2014 Recommended Proposed Budget has been scheduled for 9:05 a.m. on June 11, 2013 to be continued if necessary on June 12 and 13, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will take place at 1010 Tenth Street in Modesto in the basement Board Chambers.
