Stanislaus County, CA – The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors is pleased to announce the
selection of Mr. Stan Risen as the new Chief Executive Officer of Stanislaus County effective
November 16, 2013. Mr. Risen is currently acting as interim Chief Executive Officer. The
Board of Supervisors will consider an employment agreement and compensation package at the
December 3, 2013 Board meeting. The Stanislaus County Chief Executive Officer has
responsibility for over 3,900 employees and an annual budget of just over one billion dollars.
Prior to accepting the interim appointment, Mr. Risen was an Assistant Executive Officer in the
Stanislaus County Chief Executive’s Office and has been with the County over 26 years. Stan
started his career with Stanislaus County in 1987 as an Appraiser and was promoted to a position
in the Chief Executive Office in 1999. He was then promoted to Assistant Executive Officer in
2005. Stan also served 11 years on the Ceres City Council.

The County conducted an open recruitment to fill this position and Stan was selected by a
unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors.
