Modesto, CA – Officers are called to investigate a robbery where the suspect steals from his neighbor.
On January 22, 2014 at about 11:16 AM, officers were called to the 1000 block of Elm Avenue to investigate an armed robbery. Once on scene, officers learned that the victim’s neighbor, 35-year-old Sean Collins, approached him and his son while they were attempting to leave in their vehicle. Collins brandished a firearm and began rummaging through the victim’s vehicle. After finding an undisclosed amount of money in the vehicle, Collins walked back to his residence and locked himself inside. After several P.A. announcements, Collins surrendered to officers without incident.
A search warrant was obtained for Collins’s residence where detectives recovered the stolen money, as well as marijuana, several thousand dollars in prescription pills, ten firearms and body armor. He was arrested for robbery, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of stolen property, possession of an assault weapon, animal cruelty and brandishing a firearm.
