The City of Modesto’s Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department in encouraging Citizens to join the fight against graffiti. Residents can go to www.modestogov.com/prnd and click the “Report Graffiti Link” to access the online form. Parks and Recreation Director Julie Hannon stated, “We need the community to join this fight by reporting graffiti in their neighborhoods.” Citizens can also report graffiti over the telephone by calling the City of Modesto’s Graffiti hotline at (209) 342-2259.
Once the information is received, a case will be opened in cooperation with the City of Modesto’s Neighborhood Preservation Unit. City Staff will then determine whether the graffiti is on public, commercial or private property and steps will be taken to remove the graffiti. The City will remove graffiti on public property. Homeowners and businesses are responsible to remove graffiti from private property. To assist the public with the removal of graffiti, the Partners in Paint program has graciously donated removal kits, which are available by contacting Heather Grigsby at (209) 577-5445.
