WASHINGTON, DC — The Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials, chaired by U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-CA), will examine the status of the California High Speed Rail project during an oversight field hearing in Madera, California next week.
The costs, completion dates, and goals of the California project have fluctuated significantly since 2008, and Denham’s subcommittee will hear testimony from state and local officials and other interested parties regarding the status of the project and ongoing concerns. A list of witnesses invited to testify will be announced at a later date.
The hearing, entitled “Oversight of California High Speed Rail,” is scheduled to begin at10:00 a.m. (PDT) on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in Auditorium Room AM120, Madera Community College Center, Madera, CA.
