Pedestrian Safety Enforcement – Turlock, CA

The Turlock Police Department will be hosting a Stanislaus Countywide Integrated Traffic Enforcement (CITE) Pedestrian Safety Enforcement detail on November 6, 2013.

Motorcycle officers from several agencies within Stanislaus County will converge in Turlock for an organized operation targeting pedestrian violations. The violations targeted will include those committed by pedestrians as well as those committed by motorists against pedestrians.

Turlock, as well as the rest of Stanislaus County, has seen a jump in the number of vehicle versus pedestrian collisions. It is the intent of the CITE team to bring awareness to both sides of this problem. The goal is that both motorists and pedestrians will be cognizant of the traffic laws and be mindful of each other.

The CITE team was organized for just this type of event. Traffic officers from Modesto, Turlock, Ceres, Patterson, Riverbank, Newman, Waterford, and the Sheriff’s Department meet in one area and address specific traffic problems unique to each community.

Media is invited to attend. For details contact Sergeant Neil Cervenka at 209-668-5550 ext. 6681.
