MODESTO, CA – Modesto Police are investigating an early morning shooting at a local bar, which left one person dead and a second victim suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
On Sunday July 22nd, at about 01:38 A.M., Modesto Police officers were called to O’Malley’s Bar, located at 2200 Standiford Avenue in northwest Modesto, for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located two shooting victims and a large crime scene in the parking lot of the O’Malley’s Bar. Both of the adult male victims were transported to local hospitals, where one of the victims succumbed to his injuries. The second victim suffered from non-life threatening wounds and is in stable condition.
Officers were able to detain a male adult, who remained at the scene. The male has been identified as the shooter and is being questioned at this time, as to his involvement in this incident.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators are processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses in order to determine what led to the shooting.
