Modesto Police Department Taking Over the Airwaves

Modesto, CA- Normally, you will hear “police chatter” in a patrol car radio or a police scanner, but this week, the public information officer for the Modesto Police Department will be taking to the radio airwaves.

On Wednesday, October 3rd, from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M., join Modesto Police spokesperson Lieutenant Rick Armendariz as he guest hosts the “Afternoons Live” radio talk show on 1360 AM KFIV. He will be taking you behind the scenes to discuss current crime trends, issues and challenges facing law enforcement in Stanislaus County and the Region. This will be an informative and entertaining show that will highlight many topics, such as:

· Crime rate in the Valley

· Gangs – From Prevention and Intervention to Suppression efforts

· Drugs – How big of an issue is it?

· The Aftermath of Prison Realignment

· Crime Prevention – How to prevent becoming a victim

· And much, much more…

There will be many guests and subject matter experts on hand, who will be sharing their insights. “This will be another unique opportunity for our Department to connect with the community we serve, in order to share valuable information”, said Interim Police Chief Gene Balentine. “The hope is that with education and awareness, everyone may become more involved in maintaining the quality of life in our community.”
