Modesto’s Valley Meat Company Recalls Million Pounds Of Ground Beef

Modesto’s Valley Meat Company has issued a voluntary recall on its ground beef after concerns were raised of possible E. coli infestation. The recall will affect many people, who bought ground beef between October 2, 2009 and January 12, 2010. Over 1,000,000 pound of ground beef products are suspected of contamination. The locally and family-owned company of 50 years in Modesto, CA has never had a recall of this magnitude.

The states mainly affected are California, Texas, Oregon, and Arizona. Some international countries are said to be effected too. All ground beef that are being recalled bear the establishment number “EST. 8268” inside the USDA mark of inspection as well as a five-digit code that signifies the date they were produced.
