The 3rd Annual Modesto Pride (Mo-Pride) Festival 2012 is set for this Saturday, September 15. The event will be held at Graceada Park (401 Needham Street, Downtown Modesto) from 11:00am to 7:00pm. This year’s slogan is “Pride links us together”.
The goal of the event is to show support for the area’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. The admissions will be FREE and all people are welcomed.
There will be plenty of vendors selling foods and beverages. Additionally there will be a Recover Art Project, Kid’s Zone, Teen Garden, food court, beer & wine garden, and FREE Live Entertainment. Don’t be surprise if you see a few fruit stands or so.
The Opening Ceremonies Honored Guest will be the Mayor of Modesto, Mayor Gerrad Marsh. The Phenomenal’s Sasha Stephane and The Fabulous’s Ethal Merman Experience will also make special guest appearances.
The after party event will be held at Modesto’s newest gay-owned and operated bar & nightclub “Climax”, which is located at 607 7th Street off Highway 99. The party begins at 5:00pm. Tickets are available for pre-sell at $5 each or at the door for $7. DJ Invisible and DJ Liquid will be providing the music for the night. In addition, there will be special appearances by Ani Nhervosa and Bebe Gunn, whose stage names (to some) may sound a lot like a porn star. For many, the after party may make the perfect “climatic” ending to a gayful day.
