Modesto Police Officers Arrest Three Subjects in Connection with Multiple Armed Robberies.

Modesto Police Officers arrest three subjects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred yesterday evening. The subjects are also suspected of committing two additional robberies in the Stanislaus Sheriff’s jurisdiction.

On January 14, 2013, at about 5:17 p.m. officers of the Modesto Police Department were dispatched to an armed robbery at Millennium Food and Liquor in the 500 block of Sycamore. Initial reports indicate two subjects entered the store and robbed the clerk. One of the subjects was reported as wearing a bandana over his face and armed with a handgun. A witness was able to get a vehicle description as the suspects fled the scene. The car was described as a black Volvo and the information was broadcasted to other officers.

At 5:30 pm Stanislaus Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Golden West Market located in the 2600 block of Paradise Rd for an armed robbery. At 8:33 p.m. deputies were dispatched to investigate a second robbery at Viva Market in the 1300 block of Paradise Rd. The suspect descriptions in the three robberies were similar and the incidents were believed to be related.

At about 9:12 p.m. officers with the Modesto Police Department’s Street Gang Unit observed a black Volvo in the area of Carpenter Rd and Hatch Rd. The car matched the description of the earlier robbery and a traffic stop was initiated. The occupants of the car were detained. Evidence connected to the string of robberies and a loaded handgun was located inside the car. Raul Valencia 22 years, Antonio Valencia 21 years, and Patricio Sandoval 18 years were arrested for robbery and conspiracy. All three suspects are from the Modesto area.
