Modesto Police Identify Man Found Deceased in Alley

MODESTO, CA – Modesto Police have identified the man found deceased in a residential alley. Homicide detectives are investigating this case as a murder.

On Wednesday September 12th, at about 1:47 P.M., Modesto Police officers were called to a report of a male found laying unconscious in the alley in the 100 block of Melrose Street. When officers arrived, they located a deceased male victim. The victim has been identified as Jimmy Espinoza, who is a 32-year-old Modesto resident. Preliminary examination has determined that Mr. Espinoza died from at least one stab wound.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have processed the scene and continue to interview witnesses in order to determine what led to Mr. Espinoza’s death.
