Modesto Marijuana Bust 2013: The Beginning…

Modesto, CA- Investigator’s from the Modesto Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team as well as several other officers continued this weekend’s marijuana crackdown investigation throughout the evening.     

So far only 18 people have been arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Jail.

1.  DANNY SILVA 57 years-old of Modesto was arrested in the 3600 block of Paradise Road.  He was booked for cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sales, possession of opiates and criminal conspiracy.  Two vehicles and approximately $23,000 is cash were seized from the unemployed suspect. 

2.  MICHAEL CAPULONG 19 years-old of Modesto was arrested in the 2300 block of Scenic Drive.  He was booked for possession of concentrated cannabis, and two counts of marijuana sales.

3.  JOSHUA COLE 19 years-old of Modesto was arrested near the intersection of Tully Road and Palmilla Drive.  He was booked for marijuana sales. 

4.  KEVIN HUTCHESON 47 years-old of Ceres was arrested in the 1800 block of Darwin Dr in Ceres.  He was booked for marijuana sales, possession of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of methamphetamine. 

5.  BRIAN FAUGHT 41 years-old of Modesto was arrested in the 800 block of Dallas Court.  He was booked for marijuana sales, possession of marijuana for sales, cultivation of marijuana, criminal conspiracy and child endangerment as there was a two year-old child in the home where officers located a 165 plant marijuana grow. 

6.  JOEL BELL 25 years-old of Waterford was arrested in the 600 block of Flora Drive in Waterford.  He was booked for marijuana sales, possession of marijuana for sales, and cultivation of marijuana.  Bell’s vehicle was asset seized. 

7.  AARON VOLPONI 33 years-old of Manteca was arrested in the 800 block of 9th Street.  He was booked for sales of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sales, and attempted sales of an opiate. 

8.  JESSE HENRICH 29 years-old of Modesto was arrested in the 900 block of Loletta Drive.  He was booked for two counts each of possession of marijuana for sales and sales of marijuana.  About $8,000 in cash was seized from the unemployed suspect. 

9.  HYUN CHOE 31 years-old of Modesto was arrested near the intersection of McClure Avenue and Glogston Drive.  He was booked for cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sales, and sales of marijuana.   Choe had two rooms of his residence converted into growing rooms. 

10.  DONALD PEARCE 32 years-old of Stockton was arrested in the 1800 block of H Street.  He was booked for attempted possession of marijuana for sales, possession of marijuana for sales, and sales of marijuana.  

11.  GILBERTO LEDEZMA 25 years-old of Newman was arrested in the 1800 block of H Street.  He was booked for two counts of sales of marijuana and one count of possession of marijuana for sales. 

12.  HECTOR ZAVALA 39 years-old of Modesto was arrested in the 3500 block of Tully Road.  He was booked for attempted possession of marijuana for sales, possession of marijuana for sales, and two counts of sales of marijuana. 

13.  LORETTA SILVA 57 years-old of Modesto was arrested in the 3600 block of Paradise Road.  She was booked for possession of methamphetamine, possession of an opiate, cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sales. 

14.  ANGELO PACHECO 30 years-old of Modesto was arrested in the 3800 block of Pan Am Drive.  He was booked for three no bail warrants from the Sheriff’s Office. 

15.  COLLETTE VAN VORIS 37 years-old of Modesto was arrested in the 800 block of Dallas Court.  She was booked for marijuana sales, possession of marijuana for sales, cultivation of marijuana, criminal conspiracy and child endangerment as there was a two year-old child in the home where officers located a 165 plant marijuana grow. 

16.  CHARLES SORIANO 19 years-old of Modesto was arrested near the intersection of Oakdale Road and Wylie Drive.  Hewas booked for possession of marijuana for sales, attempted sales of an opiate, and criminal conspiracy. 

17.  TINA MURRILO 23 years-old of Modesto was arrested near the intersection of Oakdale Road and Scenic Drive.  She was booked for sales of marijuana. 

18.  17 year-old juvenile of Modesto was arrested near the intersection of Oakdale Road and Wylie Drive.  The juvenile was booked into the Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall for sales of marijuana, attempted sales of marijuana, and possession of marijuana for sales.

According to the California Penal Codes, 11360 HS states

11360.  (a) Except as otherwise provided by this section or as
authorized by law, every person who transports, imports into this
state, sells, furnishes, administers, or gives away, or offers to
transport, import into this state, sell, furnish, administer, or give
away, or attempts to import into this state or transport any
marijuana shall be punished by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision
(h) of Section 1170 of the Penal Code for a period of two, three or
four years.
   (b) Except as authorized by law, every person who gives away,
offers to give away, transports, offers to transport, or attempts to
transport not more than 28.5 grams of marijuana, other than
concentrated cannabis, is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be
punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100). In
any case in which a person is arrested for a violation of this
subdivision and does not demand to be taken before a magistrate, such
person shall be released by the arresting officer upon presentation
of satisfactory evidence of identity and giving his written promise
to appear in court, as provided in Section 853.6 of the Penal Code,
and shall not be subjected to booking.
