The City of Modesto, along with a number of other organizations, will host Modesto Bike to Work Day 2015. This event will be held on Thursday, May 14 between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. at Tenth Street Plaza, on 10th Street, between J & K Streets. Residents are encouraged to bike into downtown before starting their work day. All-day secured bicycle parking is available.
A continental breakfast will be provided to all bicycle riders who commute to work on a bicycle. The first 150 riders will receive a free tee-shirt and bicycle incentives. All riders can enter the prize drawing and win one of several prizes.
The goals of Bike to Work Day are to develop bicycling as a form of transportation to the work place, decrease traffic congestion, improve air quality, and promote safe bicycle commuting. For those whose commute may seem too daunting to complete entirely by bicycle, all buses operated by Modesto Area Express (MAX) and Stanislaus Regional Transit (StaRT) are equipped with user friendly bike racks. No additional fare is required.
