On Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at approximately 1845 hours, Praveen Singh aka “Prajeer Singh” 34 years, resident from Modesto, CA., was arrested for the following charges; Attempted Shooting at an Inhabited House, Soliciting the Commission of a Shooting of an Inhabited House and Soliciting the Commission of a Robbery.
The arrest was a result of a long term criminal investigation that began in 2012, involving a joint task force comprised of investigators from the Modesto Police Department, Turlock Police Department, Ceres Police Department, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department and Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office. The task force was investigating ongoing violent crimes that included; Homicide, Soliciting Drive-by shootings, Soliciting Home Invasion Robberies, and other significant felony crimes.
Earlier in 2013, investigators received information that licensed Bail Agent Praveen Singh of “Singh Bail Bonds” of Modesto was entering the Stanislaus County Jail under the pretext of working as a Criminal Defense Investigator. During his jail visits, Praveen Singh was soliciting active gang members to commit the above crimes, including the drive-by shooting of a law enforcement officer’s residence in Modesto, and solicitation of a home invasion robbery of an illegal marijuana grow within Stanislaus County.
