Joe “McFumble” McKnight Cut? 7 Reasons Why New York Jets Should Cut Him
1) Joe “McFumble” McKnight has fumbling-litis problems since college. Three fumbles in the last 4 games should not happen for a 4th round draft pick and for someone who is destined to be on the 53 man roster.
2) McKnight lacks focus and demeanor. This was evident on the 2nd episode of Hard Knocks with the New York Jets.
3) McKnight dances too much in the backfield. He does not run between tackles as well as the other running backs that are currently on the roster. It seems like he is scared of being touched or tackled.
4) McKnight is LAZY. After being drafted by the New York Jets, he failed his 1st conditioning test and vomited multiple times during practice.
5) Chauncey Washington, who is on the fringes of being cut from the team, outperformed McKnight in every facet of the game during the preseason. Washington should be on the New York Jet’s 53 man roster.
6) McKnight’s former head coach, Pete Carroll, who is now coaching the Seattle Seahawks, opted to not draft him in the 2010 NFL Draft. Instead, Carroll decided to trade for Leon Washington, who sat out a majority of games last season due to a horrific leg injury.
7) Finally…… McKnight is immature and is not mentally ready for the rigors of a professional career in the NFL.
