The City is hosting an Informational Open House Meeting to provide the community with an update on the construction of the State Route 99/Pelandale Avenue Interchange Reconstruction Project on Thursday, June 11 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Abundant Life Center located at 3120 Snyder Avenue, Modesto, CA.
Since beginning construction in spring of 2014, the construction team has completed many major milestones and the project remains on schedule for completion in late 2016. Crews are working towards opening the new Pelandale Avenue overcrossing structure to traffic in July. To prepare, crews will modify the intersection of Sisk Road and Pelandale Avenue in mid-June by removing one eastbound through lane. In addition, the northbound SR 99 off ramp will be closed for approximately three days and nights in July, during the closure motorists are encouraged to follow the signed detour route.
This project includes reconstruction of the Pelandale Avenue overcrossing, the SR 99 on and off ramps and construction of a southbound auxiliary lane. In addition the project includes signature “Welcome to Modesto” signage for motorists traveling along SR 99. This is the largest transportation project in the City. The City appreciates the community’s patience as we work to reduce congestion and improve safety in this area.
The Open House will include information stations with exhibits, maps, and a project schedule. City staff and members of the project team will be available to answer questions and discuss ideas in an informal format.
