Hughson Harvest Festival 2012 set for Saturday, September 15

The Hughson Harvest Festival 2012 is set to start on Saturday, September 15th at 10:00am. The two day event, which ends the following day (Sunday, September 16th), is established as a way to celebrate the city’s vibrant history and community of people.

At one time, the city of Hughson garnered the title “The Peach Capital of the World” for its enormous production of peaches. These days this isn’t the case and the city is more known to be large producers of other crops such as almonds, walnuts, nectarines, cherries and apples.

The festival will feature live bands, street dancing, petting zoo, a Taste of Central Valley’s Agriculture (Free Samples), FFA Kiddie Tractor Pull, Farmers Market, Children’s Play Area: Games, Face Painting, Prizes, Inflatable Adventures, Clowns, Food Booths, Arts and Crafts and Commercial Booths. There will also be a reptile exhibit with Cruzin Critters. The Chili Cook-off is one of the festival’s popular events.

The festival is located in Downtown Hughson on Main Street, a location where it looks like a scene from a low-budget horror flick.
