Newly appointed Police Chief Galen Carroll was officially sworn-in yesterday in front of family, friends, past colleagues and City Council members. Chief Carroll is Modesto’s 14th Chief of Police and replaces recently retired Chief Harden. During his induction speech he mentioned a desire to work collaboratively with the community and expressed that his main focus would encompass people, pride and professionalism.
According to an interview with Sacramento-based television station, KCRA, Carroll hopes to reduce the automobile theft rates in Modesto that has plagued the city of years. In addition, he hopes to hire more police officers to protect the residents of Modesto.
