There will be a FREE dental care clinic, set up by CDA Cares, this week at Cal Expo 1600 Exposition Blvd. Sacramento, CA. The event will be on Friday and Saturday, August 24-25 from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
The same FREE clinic was held in Modesto earlier in the year and it was quite popular. Residents from all over the Central Valley and even out-of-state residents went to the event, hoping to get their dental care needs fixed. Many people did. However, some others were turned away due to the enormity of the crowd.
According to CDA Cares, the Modesto event had 7,200 procedures done on 1,650 patients. There were 1,250 volunteers and about $1.2 million worth of dental services was provided. There is a huge demand of dental services in the state of California due to the discontinuation of Denti-Cal, California’s Free Adult dental program.
Many types of dental services will be provided for FREE at the clinic. These procedures many include: fillings, cleanings, extractions, and general oral health care instructions. There may be even a FREE follow-up opportunity.
If the Modesto event brought in close to 2,000 patients, one can safely assume that there may be even more attendees for this one considering the large facilities at Cal Expo. We are expecting over 2,500 patients. Patients are helped on a first-come, first served basis. So arriving early to Cal Expo may be the wise thing to do. Doors open at 5:30am.
