Dr. Laura = Racist? FIRE The Doctor Now For Saying N Word On Radio Show; Don’t NAACP Me!

Let’s look at Dr. Laura Schlessinger qualifications. She holds a PhD in Physiology from Columbia University, a post-doctoral certificate in Counseling from USC and yet she is on the airwaves giving out relationship advice for 30 years? After all, she only got a certificate from USC.

On August 10, 2010, a caller by the name of Jade calls in to complain about her marital problems and dealings with race. Her husband is white and she is black. She feels overwhelmed with all the racism around her. Her husband ignores the racial jokes and comments and it hurts her feelings. She gave an example where her neighbor would come over and comment about her race such as using “Black people like doing this… black people like doing that…”

So what did the 63-year-old radio show personality do? Dr. Laura said the “N” word over 10 times on the show. Jade questioned Dr. Laura’s use of the N word and she nonchalantly blew her away by saying that “Black guys used it all the time” She tried to gain credibility by saying that her body guard is a black man. But that did not matter.

Why are people still calling Dr. Laura Schlessinger? Every time when I turn on the radio and catch her show, she seems to always belittling her callers. And yet, most callers take it with proud bravado like it was the right thing.

What angers me the most was the way she used the N word. She used it with such ease with the derogatory term easily rolling off her tongue.

Here’s a portion of the transcript that infuriated all of us:

CALLER: Is it okay to say that word? Is it ever okay to say that word?
DR. LAURA: It depends how it’s said. Black guys talking to each other seem to think it’s ok.
CALLER: But you’re not black, they’re not black, my husband is white.
DR. LAURA: Oh, I see, so a word is restricted to race. Got it! Can’t do much about that.
CALLER: I can’t believe someone like you is on the radio spewing out the n***** word, and I hope everybody heard it.
DR. LAURA: I didn’t spew out the n***** word!
CALLER: You said “n*****, n*****, n*****” and I hope everybody heard it.
DR. LAURA: Yes they did, and I’ll say it again: n*****, n*****, n***** is what you hear on HBO.
DR. LAURA: Why don’t you let me finish a sentence? Don’t take things out of context. Don’t NAACP me!!!! Leave them in context.

One day later after this incident, she apologized to the caller and her listeners on her blog and radio show. But it didn’t sound sincere to me. The damage was done.

Don Imus was fired for his racist comments but yet Dr. Laura Schlessinger is still on the radio? Is this justice? Was she a racist? Does she need to be fired like Don Imus? Please comment below.

    YES she should have been fired. Ithink if she is not fired, her radio station MUST be boycotted until she is fired.All people should be outraged over her seemingly EASE of saying the N-word ELEVEN TIMES. If anyone is ok with this THEY are a CLOSET RACIST.

    She should be fired immediately. She is not sincerely sorry, she is sorry she got called out. This woman needs to be replaced with a talk show host that sticks to the callers questions and answers them accordingly. The media has gotten away with so many things. Instead of reporting the news, we now have to listen to the media's opinion. The media is there to do their job which is to report the facts of a situation, not to voice their own personal opinions and put their own spin on things, creating animosity and upset all over the world. Someone needs to get these opinionated, non-reporting media people off the air forever. Just a suggestion, but if this woman is fired, and she should be immediately, she would fit perfectly in a spot on Fox News. She would blend in with all the other employees that work there, excluding Shephard Smith, who is the only sane person on that channel. Wake up America and stop letting these people create havic.

    She has a history of abusing callers. She is angry, hostile and socially inept. She makes money off of degrading callers who are foolish enough to seek her “advice”. She is NOT what the majority of Americans want to hear, and she is certainly NOT what they need. She is not helpful and does nothing to lift others up, only tears them down with her condescending, critical and archaic views. How any radio conglomerate in 2010 can defend her after her latest catastrophe is beyone me.

    She was just having a difficult day. She and her son need to take the boat out for a nice coastal cruise and calm down. Everything will be forgotten by Monday morning. Maybe she could have lunch with Oprah to prove to everyone that she is not a racist.

    Definitely not the platform for “white philosophical view of the evolving N word.” She sould have tried it in 2020. As for now fire her: or does anyone quit when they err up anymore. As boldly as she stepped out of bounds: send her on a thinking break. Let's hear of some penalty. I am afraid though that because she is still on the air that her station executives have decided to apologize once and just wait until we forget.

    I am comedian and I'm white. She said turn on HBO and all the black comics are using the N-word. She's right Bill Cosby always uses in his set, Sinbad known for that. When Richard Pryor came back from Africa he used it more then ever. After Michael Richards did his rant Paul Mooney really started using it. I'm being sarcastic. The reason these “Black Comedians” don't use that word is because it is offensive. You ever use it ask for permission it's the least we could. I hope she sees the error in this. But from her apology which basically sound like a condensing backhanded no feeling apology I doubt she realizes. She's a sick lady that needs help.

    Don Imus said MUCH less and got Fired!!!! he never said the N-word and was sincere about his apology and still got canned, Dr Laura said it countless times and not only is she still on the air…she's not gonna even get a slap on her wrist!
