Community members are invited to attend two Discovering Shakespeare playshops at the Modesto Library on Saturdays, April 13 and April 20, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. These participatory workshops, offered by the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, will feature games and activities to illuminate the concepts of drama and language, through the works of William Shakespeare.
Playshop participants may also be invited to join in a May 11 community production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Possible roles could include acting, performing music or helping with set design. People of all ages, with or without theater experience are welcome. The May 11 community production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be tailored for our community and the script will be modified to fit a condensed format.
The Discovering Shakespeare Playshops and the community production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream are part of Shakespeare for All, made possible through a grant from The James Irvine Foundation.
