Detectives Make Property Crime a Priority

Modesto, CA– A two-day operation with members from Modesto Police Department, Stanislaus County Probation and California State Parole yielded 22 arrests.

On October 9th and 10th detectives from the Modesto Police Property Crimes Unit put together teams of officers and agents to conduct compliance probation and parole checks at 17 locations in Modesto.  During the two-day operation, members from the three agencies contacted more than 60 individuals.  A total of 22 arrests were made for a variety of charges including possession of methamphetamine, possession of stolen property, identity theft and fraudulent checks.

In a proactive effort to reduce property crimes such as burglary and theft, investigators from the Property Crimes Unit concentrated the operation on subjects who were on probation or parole for property crime related offenses.  Even though many of the locations visited by the teams were not in compliance with probation and/or parole terms, there were some locations that were.  Subjects at the locations who were in compliance were contacted and released.
