Darko Milicic Signs For $20 Million With Minnesota Timberwolves = What A Joke!
It’s July 1st and the NBA free agency period has hit full swing. With teams such as the New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets and Chicago Bulls set for a bidding war for high profiled free agents such as Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and Dirk Nowitzki, teams are quickly negotiating deals among the 2nd and 3rd tier players.
Today, Darko Milicic signed a 4 year contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves for an estimated $20 million. That is just too much money for a player who has never proved himself in the NBA. Milicic was a 1st round 2nd pick for the Detroit Pistons in the 2003 NBA Draft. He was picked ahead of great players such as Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, and Dwayne Wade.
Back in February 2010, Milicic was set to go back to Europe and play basketball there. However, $20 million later, he’ll be in the NBA for the next 4 years. Milicic is only 25 years-old and the Timberwolves believes that he can still prove himself in the NBA.
