Modesto, CA- Celebrate National Night Out this year and show unity in your neighborhood and pride in your community!
National Night Out is an annual event designed to strengthen our neighborhoods through police-community partnerships. The goal is to heighten crime and drug awareness, build support and participation in local anti-crime programs and, most important, send a message to criminals that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. It’s also the perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbors better.
Each year the city of Modesto takes an active part in helping communities come together by encouraging residents to host neighborhood block parties. This year, National Night Out 2012 will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 7 from 6-9 p.m. Over 100 neighborhood block parties are planned to participate in this important community event.
Many neighborhoods in Modesto will be hosting a variety of special events like barbecues, potlucks, cookouts, ice cream socials, and games and music. Local government leaders and public safety officials will be traveling to various block parties to get to know the communities and neighborhoods they serve and protect.
