State Route 99/State Route 219 Kiernan Avenue Interchange Reconstruction
(SALIDA, CA)—To accommodate a portion of the demolition work required for reconstruction of the State Route 99/State Route 219 Kiernan Avenue Interchange, a full freeway closure will be in place at the interchange from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday night, March 15, 2014, to 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014. Detours will be in place at the freeway site.
Additionally, Kiernan Avenue will be closed between the freeway ramps from 10:00 p.m. Saturday night, March 15, 2014, to 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014. Detours will be in place to direct traffic to Pelandale Avenue.
Changeable Message Signs are in place to inform motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians of the anticipated closure.
For westbound traffic on Kiernan Avenue, follow the Sisk Road detour signs. For eastbound traffic on Kiernan Avenue, follow the Salida Boulevard/Pelandale Avenue detour signs.
This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials, and construction-related issues.
The interchange is being reconstructed to help meet future traffic demands, alleviate traffic congestion, and improve the overall operation of the interchange.
Construction of the interchange is anticipated to be complete in fall 2016.
