2010 California State Fair Increases Attendance By 10%, Stanislaus County Fair Too?

by Maria Sanchez on August 4, 2010

In an effort to combat the early school enrollment periods, the California State Fair was put on earlier this year than previous ones. This was a shrewd move as attendance record topped last year’s marks by 10% to about 741,200 attendees.

Many saw the increases due to the aggressive marketing done by state fair officials. In addition, with the current economy still in limbo, the state fair had vendors cut their prices in order to accommodate this effect.

Numbers for the Stanislaus County fair are not currently official. The official numbers will be released on Thursday. Something tells us that the 2010 Stanislaus County fair may not have been as profitable from years past. This is due to the economy within the county. Modesto is ranked third in the nation in terms of foreclosure rates. Other cities within the area are also suffering from the same plight.
